Sugar Loaf Mountain Hike

Sugarloaf(3965 ft) 

Distance to drive:           about 25 miles 

Distance to walk: about two miles one way 

Hike Rating:                   easy / moderate 

Reward:                360 degrees Stunning panorama views to Hickory Nut Gorge and surrounding mountains 

Driving direction: Follow 64 West to Edneyville. 

There turn left into Gilliam Mountain Road. After about 2 miles at a “T” go left and about another 2 miles at a “Y”, go left into Sugar Loaf Mountain Road about 1 1/2 miles to the end. Park near the gate. 

Hiking direction:  Go past the gate and follow the gravel road to the top of the mountain. The white tower is a FAA tracking station, stay off US property, go around it and enjoy the awesome views. 

                             Note: This is private land. Respect its beauty and leave no trace. 

Note: This hike can be done in connection with “World’s Edge”.
