Now here is a great place to hike for a few hours then take in the hot springs that line the river!
Rent a natural spring hot spa and grab a bottle of wine with your group as we have done many times! Nothing better!
Trails: “Hot Springs is also known as being an Appalachian Trail (AT) town, and the famous path runs right down Bridge Street. You can hike the Appalachian Trail right out of downtown up to Lovers Leap Ridge for spectacular views back down on the town and the river.
Or, the Lovers Leap Trail can be used as an alternative to reach the overlooks. It can be combined with the AT to form a loop hike. These trails start at the Silvermine Trailhead parking area, just across the French Broad River bridge from town.” From Hike NC, http://www.hikewnc.info/trailheads/pisgah/appalachian/frenchbroad/hotsprings.html
